Tygart River (Hammond)

Description:

This section of the Tygart River is 5 miles long.  It includes a few rapids for the first mile (class I) then moving water for the next 4 miles. An alternative take-out along rt 73 in Fairmont adds another 4+ miles.

Directions:

The Tygart River is located in central and northern WV.  The Hammond section is located near Fairmont, north of Valley Falls State Park.  (Google Maps directions below.)
