Big Sandy Creek (Upper)

Description:

Class I-IV. This is a great intermediate run as it starts out easier with a lot of practice surf waves and class I rapids and gets continually harder, with the last two miles being class III with one IV. This is a beautiful creek close to town. 6 miles. Map (pdf).

Directions:

Put-in at Bruceton Mills (I 68 East exit 23). Take out at the Rockville bridge (from Bruceton, go south for 2 miles on rt 26 to cr 26-16. Take a right and go about 31/2 miles on cr 26-16, cr 14-3 and cr 14 to Rockville).
