Whitewater:

Cheat River Narrows

Description:

The Cheat Narrows is a great whitewater run that offers beginner to intermediate paddling that is available much of the year.  This section can be run during low water times much of the summer as a class II-II+ section, but is big and pushy at high water levels (Class III). The run is 3 to 5 miles long and the road along the river makes for an easy shuttle (by bicycle or car). There are many places to put in or take out along Rt. 72. Commercial outfitters  offer trips on this section. Map (pdf).
