Whitewater — South Branch of the Potomac(US 220 to Smoke Hole Picnic Area)
This is an extremely fun class III section that flows through the first five miles of the spectacular Smoke Hole Canyon. This run is perfect for an intermediate paddlers first try at a small river/creek experience that includes fairly continuous rapids. It provides good practice of eddy hopping and boat scouting.
