Elk River Touring Center
Description:
The Elk River Touring Center is located in high Pocahontas County near Snowshoe Ski Resort. The large amount of natural snow makes this an ideal cross country ski destination. There are 5 km of trails directly adjacent to the center, with 30+ km close by around the Highland Scenic Highway in the Mon. National Forest. Rentals, lodging, and food are available. Trail fee $5
Directions:
Elk River is located 5 miles south of WV 66 (Snowshoe turnoff). Look for a large green sign “Elk River Inn & Restaurant” and turn immediately onto a bridge over the Elk headwaters (Google directions below).
