The state of West Virginia is loaded with whitewater rivers and creeks. There are
many many runs that are not included in this guide – either due to location or level
of difficulty. If the steep creeks interest you, check the
American Whitewater web site or the book “A Canoeing and Kayaking Guide
to West Virginia” for detailed information. Areas that have great whitewater not
included in this guide but worth checking out include the tributaries of the Gauley
(the Williams, Cherry and Cranberry Rivers), the Upper Elk River, the Greenbriar
River, the Bluestone River and upper sections of the New River.
