Camping:

Cranberry Campground

Description:

Cranberry Campground is a great spot to get away from everything and it is a good jumping off point if you want to explore the largest wilderness and backcountry area in WV. The campground is located at the end of Forest Road 76 along the Cranberry River in between the Cranberry Wilderness (47,815 acres) and Cranberry Backcountry (14,000 acres). Between them, there are 135 miles of hiking trails that provide some good loop hikes. Mountain biking is popular in the Cranberry Backcountry with lots of single track options as well as a unique experience on the Cranberry Road for backcountry bike packing. The Cranberry River and its tributaries provide great fly fishing and places to take a dip and cool off. There are 28 semi-primitive campsites here with vault toilets and hand pumps for water. The sites are first come, first served. Single sites are $10. Double sites are $20.
