Summit Lake Campground

Description:

Summit Lake Campground is a great spot to relax and experience the mountains.  It is located in a good spot if you want to explore the largest wilderness and backcountry area in WV.  The campground is located beside Summit Lake in the middle of the Cranberry Backcountry.  There is access to fishing and canoeing on the lake as well as hiking trails in the backcountry.  There are 33 semi-primitive campsites here with vault toilets and hand pumps for water.  The sites are first come, first served.

Summit Lake Campground is located near Richwood in southeastern WV (See google directions below).

Backpacking, Hiking, Sight Seeing (waterfall, overlooks), Swimming Holes,Mountain Biking, Whitewater.
