Camping:

Bluestone Lake WMA/Summers Co. Camping

Description:

Bluestone Lake WMA/Summers Co. Camping includes nine separate camping areas with 330 campsites total and one pavilion/barn that can be rented.  These campgrounds are on WMA property, but are managed by Summers County Commission.  Seven of these camping areas are located along the New River and backwaters of the Bluestone Lake.  These camping areas offer great ways to experience the river for fishing, boating or just relaxing.  Because of the easy access from the river, the sites are great camping options for overnight paddling trips on the New River and/or on Bluestone Lake.  All of the camping areas are primitive, with a fire pit, picnic tables at some sites and pit toilets.  There is no potable water.  The sites are first come first served and are not reservable.  Cost is $15    Bluestone WMA MapBluestone Map (detailed), Bluestone Map (Army Corps).
