Camping:

Green Ridge State Forest (MD)

Description:

This area is home to many outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, fishing, canoeing and bicycling on the C&O Canal. There are 100 primitive sites and 7 group sites located along the roads throughout the 46,000 acre state forest. These sites have fire rings and picnic tables, but no other facilities, so you will need to bring water, pack out your waste and practice LNT principles. Registration and payment for the sites can be done at the forest visitor center. There are also campgrounds on the Potomac river managed by the C&O Canal. Paw Paw and Fifteen Mile Creek are the sites adjacent to Green Ridge. Green Ridge Map
