Bluestone Lake

Description:

Bluestone Lake is the state`s third-largest body of water at 2252 acres.  It is located in the New River Watershed and has multiple pieces of public land adjacent or nearby.  The lake is narrow and has the feel of a large river.  It is possible to do an overnight trip on the lake by camping either at the state park or WMA primitive sites (see links below).  An overnight trip could also be done by paddling the New River upstream into the lake.  This is a rather unique experience as there are very few places in WV that have public campsites on a body of water.  Bluestone WMA Map
