Plum Orchard Lake

Plum Orchard Lake is a 175 acre reservoir that is surrounded by forested hills.  At a little over a mile long with one major cove, this lake is big enough to explore, but small enough to be an intimate canoeing experience.  The over three thousand acre Plum Orchard Lake Wildlife Management Area, that surrounds the lake, includes bothrooms, primitive camping, hiking trails, fishing docks and picnic spots.  Plum Orchard Lake Map

Plum Orchard Lake is located in southern West Virginia, near Oak Hill. There are four public access boat ramps and three docs on the lake.  Three ramps are along the Park Forest Rd. (west side of the lake) the one furthest south is better for kayaks and canoes (Google Maps directions below).  The fourth ramp and all the docs are on the northern side of the lake on Plum Orchard Lake road near the campgrounds.
