Canoeing:

West Fork River

Description:

The West Fork River covers seventy five miles as it flows from the Stonewall Jackson Dam through Weston, Clarksburg, Shinnston and on to Fairmont.  There are twenty six access points to the river that allow for a wide range of trip options.  Low head dams are common on the West Fork, so caution and portages are needed.

Directions:

The West Fork River is located in north central West Virginia, flowing from the Weston area north through Clarksburg and then on to Fairmont.  There are multiple boat ramps/access points.
