Wheeling Creek

Description:

Wheeling Creek flows across the northern panhandle from Pennsylvania to Wheeling where it empties into the Ohio River.  The run consists of flowing water with some small ripples.  Canoeing, kayaking and tubing are popular along the run.  There are 28 stream miles in the water trail.  Suggested water levels for running this section are a low of 1.8 feet and a high of 4 feet on the Elm Grove Gauge.

Wheeling Creek is located in the Northern Panhandle of WV near Wheeling. Google Maps directions below are to the Viola Access.  The are 11 total access points along the creek with 5 in the Wheeling area (see the Water Trail web page below for an overview map as well as the DIY map below).
