Description:
This is a really beautiful river in an isolated canyon. The river section is a good initiation to creek style boating. The first 6 miles (to Tenmile) are class II-III and the last 4 miles (from Tenmile to Sago) are class III-IV.
Directions:
Navigate to Sago, WV. From here, go south along the river for a mile to the take-out (just before the hill). Put-in/Take-out options are up stream on cr 30/7 4.6 miles. To get to Tenmile, go straight (gravel rd) at the Big Bend Church downhill for about 2 miles. To get to Alton (Google directions below), continue from Big Bend Church on cr 30/9, 32/11, 32/21, 32/13 and 32 for about 7 miles (make sure you bring your maps).
