North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac (Seneca to Hopeville)

This is a great beginner run or intermediate open canoe run. A wide variety of rapids types are found on this consistent class II run. Seneca Rocks, Champe Rocks and North Fork Mountain create a majestic backdrop. 9 miles.

The put-in is at Seneca Rocks (Google Directions below). Drive to the visitors center entrance and down to the lower parking lot near the low water bridge. Take out (same as the put-in the the Hopeville Canyon) is about 8 miles from Seneca Rocks to the North on Rt. 28. Look for a large pull-out as the river comes right up to the road.
