Whitewater:

North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac (Judy Gap to Seneca Rocks)

Description:

This is a great beginner kayak run or intermediate open canoe run. A variety of rapids types are found on this quick moving section including rock gardens and ledges. class II-III run. 11miles.

Directions:

The North Fork of the South Branch is located in eastern WV, south of Petersburg.  The put-in is at Judy Gap - 38.706544, -79.465092 There is an alternate put-in at Riverton (38.743488, -79.435980) that makes the run 7.4 miles.  The take out  is at Seneca Rocks. Drive to the visitors center entrance and down to the lower parking lot near the low water bridge - 38.832441, -79.373262.
