Whitewater:
Bluestone River (Spanishburg to Eads Mill)
Description:
The Bluestone River is intermediate whitewater flowing through the beginning of the Bluestone Gorge. The first 3 miles are moving water ending at a dam. From there the river is class II-III with the harder rapids coming at the end. There are a few hazards on this section (see notes and pics on the American WW link below).
- Class I-III, 10.5 miles
- River Level - 4.5-10 ft Bluestone River at Pipestem

The Bluestone River is in southern West Virginia, just north of Princeton. Google directions below are to the put-in at Spanishburg 37.444700, -81.121700 . Take-out is at Eads Mill rd 37.478880, -81.071780.
