Description:
This section includes a few major rapids/falls and a number of easier rapids interspersed with a good deal of flat/moving water. The class III-IV whitewater is in the middle to the end of the run and includes Brooks Falls and culminates with the spectacular Sandstone Falls. commercial outfitters offer trips on this section. Class I-III(IV). 11 miles.

The New River is in Southern WV near Hinton, WV. The put-in is either at the Bluestone Dam or the confluence of the Greenbrier and New Rivers (Google directions below). The take out is in Sandstone near the post office (north on rt. 20).Activities:
