Whitewater:

Shavers Fork (McGee Run to Bemis)

Description:

Class III-V.  13 miles.  This is the most difficult section of the Shavers Fork.  It includes High Falls and a number of other hard rapids.  The run is in one of the most remote areas of the Monongahela National Forest.  Check the American Whitewater page linked below for more details.  

Gauge: Cheat Bridge 5.5 - 6.5.  This gauge is located upstream.

Directions:

The Shavers Fork River is located in the eastern part of West Virginia, just east of Huttonsville.  The shuttle for this run is long and complicated.  The put-in is located on FR 210 (PR 190) 38.705815, -79.838575.  The take-out is in Bemis at the CR 22 bridge  38.807658, -79.737979 (Google directions below).  There is an extensive shuttle description on the American Whitewater page linked below.
