Meadow River (East Rainelle to Russellville)

The Upper Meadow includes a long section of flatwater/ easy warm-up water, then four miles of continuous class IV whitewater and then a shorter section of easier water toward the take-out.  This is both a beautiful section of river and a really fun intermediate river.  See the American Whitewater link below for more details, including description and flow information.  15 miles.  Class III-IV

The Meadow River is located in southern West Virginia just south of Summersville.   The put-in for this section is located along CR 60/1 north of Rainelle (Google directions below).  Alternative put-in spots exist to decrease the flat water section (although they are on very local back roads - see notes on the American WW page below).  The take-out is in Russellville, at the Quinwood/Nutterville Rd. bridge.  Put-In: 37.984900 ,-80.772300 Take-Out:  38.077468, -80.892131
