Little Canaan WMA/Yellow Creek Preserve

Description:

Little Canaan Wildlife Management Area and Yellow Creek Preserve together have almost 4,000 acres of land that include wetlands, forested areas and access to a 3 mile section of the Blackwater River.  There are 14 trails in the area that total over 16 miles of hiking.  This area is part of a larger trail system that includes both private and public lands adjacent to the town of Davis.  First Energy Corps and Canaan Valley NWR trails all link to the Little Canaan WMA/ Yellow Creek trails.  Together, these areas allow access the northern part of Canaan Valley right from the Davis town center.  Little Canaan Map (see area map below for all local trails)  

Directions:

Little Canaan WMA is located in north central WV, just outside of Davis.  The google directions below are to the Sherald Shunt trailhead along Camp 70 Rd.  There are other trailheads along Camp 70 Rd as well as on Rt. 32 just outside of Davis.
