Trout Pond Recreation Area
Description:
Trout Pond Recreation Area is close to the border of Virginia in the George Washington National Forest. There are 6 trails with a total of over 12 miles of hiking. Rock Cliff Lake and Chimney Rock are focal points of the hikes right around the campground area. The larger trail system of this part of the Lee Ranger District includes 31 trails with a total of almost 100 miles of hiking. All of these trails, as well as forest roads, can be linked together from Trout Pond and other trailheads in the area. The Tuscarora Trail goes through this area and includes shelters that can be used while backpacking.
