Hiking:

Bluestone National Scenic River

Description:

Bluestone National Scenic River includes one trail, the Bluestone Turnpike.  This 9.5 mile trail traverses the bottom of the Bluestone Gorge next to the river.  The trail makes its way through native woodlands and in places there is access to the river.  The trail joins the two state parks that are located nearby - Bluestone State Park and Pipestem State Park.  If you want to hike this trail from Pipestem, you will either need to ride the tram down to the river or hike other trails to access the Bluestone Turnpike
